Hedge and Turf Farm Staff

Hedge and Turf Farm specializes in the care and training of the horse and rider in the hunter, jumper and equitation disciplines. We have several lessons seven days a week. If you ride with us you will have the opportunity to compete at the local level HJAM and national level USEF A and AA rated shows.

Sharrone Peters

Sharrone has been training riders and horses for over 35 years. She is an accomplished equestrian and a fabulous trainer. She has trained numerous horse show champions and many students have qualified for national horse shows under her training. She is recognized for training young green horses and ponies all the way to the top. She also has great success with breeding quality sporthorses, a spetacular eye for buying new horses and a keen sense for matching the horse and rider.  Her years of experience in the horse industry says it all.

David Peters

David started riding at the age of six showing in the pony hunter division, he is a life long equestrian with many years of experience. David starts most of our new students at Hedge & Turf.

Heather Joseph

Heather grew up under the watchful eye of her mother Sharrone Peters. After a successful junior hunter career she attended Wayne State University. She is now teaching and training young equestrians and horses.

 

Carone Stucky

Carone Stucky is a life long competitive equestrian. She has been riding since the age of 5, and started competing at 9 yrs. old, working her way up through the ranks. Her expertise ranges from local shows, to national and international levels. She has shown competitively and successfully at Devon, Harrisburg, Washington, and New York, and has excelled in many areas, especially Equitation. Her Education is in the field of medicine, and she has received her BA in Nursing and Science from Wayne State University.
In 1995 , Carone was invited to train in Europe with Olympic Chef d’ Equip trainer Hank Noren where she trained and rode horses in Holland and Belgium. This venture sent her on a magnificent journey to traveling to Hickstead England to that show, being involved in buying horses from Gold medal Olympic rider Mark Todd, for families is Saudi Arabia.  She currently owns and shows horses in Europe and the U.S. throughout each year.
Carone has students showing at all levels: from local, A, AA, and international show jumping.
She currently has students that have qualified for the Medal Maclay Finals.  She has bred, raised, and trained many famous horses including: Fernwalk- the #1 small junior in the United States, Black Type winner in the Medal Maclay equitation qualifying regional and National finalist, First in Flight winner of National Level Jumpers, Courvoisier MHJA Conformation Grand Champion, Grand Traverse- Medal Maclay equitation finalist currently residing at Hedge & Turf farm, Beijing top Small Junior Champion, Boomerang Zone Champion in the Children’s Jumpers, Chasm Z- Jr./Amateur Jumpers Grand Champion to name a few.  Carone specializes in the training, teaching, and horsemanship of both the rider and the horse. 
She is very skilled at matching the right horses with the right riders at whatever level they want to ride and/ or compete. She trains and teaches currently at her own farm, Hedge & Turf Farm South, Chapel Gate farm and South Lake Farm.
